I like these flats because they are flexible so they move with your feet when you're walking. However, the heel part digs in a little bit and you definitely have to get used to that. I tried these on at Nordstrom before buying them here (they cost $70 there and only $21 on amazon!) and found that the 7 fit me pretty well (I am usually 7 or 7.5), and the pairs that I tried on did not hurt my feet at all. My toes did peep out a little more than I liked, but I didn't think it was too bad. Because the heel is scrunched, it sort of pushes your foot forward in the shoe and causes your toes to stick out.
However, when I received the ones I ordered from Amazon, it hurt my feet in a few places. I find that depending on the time of day these shoes will either be extremely comfortable or they will be irritating in a few places. I'm sure they don't require too much of a breaking in period though, because the leather is pretty soft. I have not worn them out yet but I'll bet one full day of walking in them and they will be broken in.
4 stars for being cute and flexible and more comfortable than the average flat. They lose one star for hurting the heel and forcing the toes to stick out.

I agree with the other reviewers that the heel digs in with some pain. However, the first several times I wore them, band aids did the trick of padding the part of my foot being irritated, and since then, I've inserted some padded cushions from hue and they work perfectly. I love these shoes!!
 Cute but hurt March 14, 2008
These are cute shoes, bought them in brown, but the elastic in the heel does dig in a bit, don't think I could wear these for more than an hour without being in a lot of pain. They also make my feet look wide, which my feet are not. These will have to go back.
