Look nice, but cheaply made August 21, 2008
First of all, these shoes DO look good. You can't really see from the picture but most of the strapping on the shoe is that shiny metallic gold, with off-white accents and gold colored buckles.
If you are looking for a shoe to last over a year with fairly consistent wear, these are not the shoes you are looking for. First of all, the bottom isn't really cork, it's some sort of cork stuck on over something else... I don't know what the sole is actually made of because I don't want to tear them up to find out. The insole has stitching which would imply that it is "stitched on" which it is not, it's stuck on like a sticker, and right out of the box mine is peeling off. No worries, I own super glue. The bottom of the shoe is a cheap plastic which makes a clacking noise if you walk on hard surfaces, and will probably be quite slick on wet cement or tile. Also, as with all shoes that buckle around the ankle, you will have to unbuckle it every time to put it on or take it off. Now I don't intend to wear these every day, and simply bought them to wear with a pair of jeans and a gold tank-top that I have... so they will work for me, that and they were only around twenty bucks after shipping. So if you are looking for something for one night or for a weekend, these should be great, but for long term wear... look elsewhere.
